The issue is that nothing was ever tied to Auburn other than Cam signing there. All that was proven was that state's people offered money to his dad and that caused people to assume Auburn cheated because State tried to. Then State slid by simply because no one cared enough to push the NCAA to go after them.
The fact they made a rule so that someone else can't try to get money off you and you still play shows they know state and his dad were talking money. Otherwise they wouldn't have made the rule.
Yeah you won the game. Enjoy your 5 seconds of fame before you end up being irrelevant again.

Stop saying that. Just stop it. It was PROVEN that State had no interest in paying for Cam. There was no "offer" made to Cecil....Cecil requested money and that request was denied. State did not try to cheat, it was quite the opposite.

Cecil admitted to asking for money = FACT

this rule actually more clearly defines Cecil as an "agent" and would have rendered Cam ineligible, which had nothing to do with MSU.
Under NCAA Bylaw 12, the rule now states that:
" ... an agent is any individual who, directly or indirectly, represents or attempts to represent an individual for the purpose of marketing his or her athletics ability or reputation for financial gain ..." = FACT
The only thing proven in this ENTIRE mess is that Cecil asked for money.
Did MSU try to negotiate? maybe
Did AU pay? maybe
Did Cam know? maybe
Anyone who can speak definitively either way about the three above questions is just speculating.
