Our secondary has been absolutely awful the last 2 games and we can't blame it on the pass rush this past Saturday because I felt like we did a good job of getting to Wallace. We have been getting torched lately. Why haven't we inserted Whitehead back in the starting lineup not that he will make that much of a difference but he has obviously been a starter for 3 years for a reason and would be an upgrade at the Safety position and provide some senior leadership out there that we may be lacking. I think this has to happen soon

Probably won't play on Defense again if the rumors are true.

The story: He mouthed off to coaches and got fired from the defense.

If that is truly the case, I'm in favor of this move in the long run. You always wonder how programs can get sick from the inside, and what could have been done to prevent it. If benching him is doing what we can to enforce a motivated/committed/respectful culture, then it's a small price to pay.

It's funny everyone is asking where Whitehead is because our pass D sucks when the biggest complaint about Whitehead before his suspension was that he's only worth a damn in run support

How many times have you heard "Whitehead took a terrible angle and got beat!"

I was just coming here to post a similar thread. It's not just the poor coverage, but the whiffed tackles leading to an extra 10-20+ yards that are frustrating. I can't imagine what Whitehead did to not have paid the price at this point.
