are there too many rules? are the refs just this bad? Is the sport corrupt?

I have no idea, but I don't feel like which way the refs lean should be a weekly talking point, but it is, and that's fricked up.

It's the inconsistency that is pissing everyone off.

When they consistently sided with Bama some people were upset but at least you knew the strike zone.

yes, yes, probably. College sports is big big business. However, I think the first two questions are the bigger issues. The sec should have much better refs than it does.

Well here is one example of just how bad they are on a scoring drive Auburn had early in the game...

The other obvious example would be the horse-collar on Laquon. You have to call that!

Can we wait one more week before a ban on talking about refs. This is the LSU-Alabama game week. I need to have an area to vent after next Saturday night

I think the refs do a great job every week. Trying to do what they do at the speed and of the size of the players is almost impossible. Especially when you consider they get to do their job just 10-12 times in the fall under an incredible microscope. And that's just 10-12 times per year.

Comparatively, NBA and MLB guys should be perfect since they get 82-162 games plus exhibitions per year and they still miss calls.

I compare it to video games proficiency. If you played those 10-12 times in the fall for just a few hours, take a week off and repeat and you couldn't practice more than say once in the spring, how bad would you suck at it? Is there any other profession or vocation you get to practice less every year than football officials?

Anybody who doesn't think the sec refs are pretty damn good is a damn Moran.

After the Auburn game last year I lost all faith in fair refs.

It was obvious they got caught up in the crowd and missed 10-15 calls, most coming in the last 5 minutes. Those refs not being suspended was a farce.

An very good Auburn friend of my was calling BS until I sit him down and showed him all the bad calls, he agreed.

Refs have to answer to ni one. The reason I quit watching CBB is because the reffing is so horrible.

No way will it stop. I hate that there is contact above the shoulder and below the waist. We need refs to legislate the 8 inch area, nipple to navel on any hit. Oh, and the defense can only tackle with the side of the shoulder. These judgement calls are hurting the game and the players are getting hurt with the same frequency as before.
