Yep it's hysterical that they honestly thought a playoff committee consisting of human error and bias could better pick the 4 deserving playoff teams than the BCS formula.

I don't care who is in it tonight. But at the end of the year if you have 6 one loss teams, you try and tell me that a committee of people from around the country can objectively look at all 6 and tell me unanimously which 4 are the best. I will laugh in their face.

Nevermind the technicality that computers also have the human error in them in that the programmers of the formula program into their formulas what they subjectively believe are the most important factors. But to the overall them of your post, you are right. It is very hard to try to wittle a handful of teams down to 4. That's why I have maintained for a while that we should have an 8 team playoff with the power 5 champs getting an auto bid and 3 wildcards. Sure 9th on down will be pissed they were not selected but with 8 teams you get more of a true champ than 4 or 2. Anything more than 8 dilutes the meaning of the regular season way too much.

Its pretty much the OLD bowl system, just with the "committee" picking which teams go to which bowls and picking 4 to play each other for a "championship".

They've gone BACKWARD with this shite.
