Im not sure why they are even doing this at this point. Is it so people can be mad until the final participants are selected

It's to get a buzz and to get people talking and arguing about college football even more than they already do.

It's to create buzz like Ellitor said but I think it's also to avoid as much backlash.

It's like slowly breaking the bad news to somebody instead of blindsiding them.

It's so the mentally unstable (Bama fans) don't get caught off guard at the last minute and go into a rage.

I would rather them do it this early so you can get an idea of who they like. But they better be ready for a backlash if 2 SEC schools are in it tonight.
