What they choose to call themselves and use as a mascot could get interesting if they combine elements of both names/mascots.

I'll be in my late eighties and probably senile. I'll be screaming at my TV set about how the ref blew the call even though TV will cease to exist in 2036.

Will CFB even exist as we know it in 50 years?
Between the concussion situation and the farcical monopoly that is the NCAA, CFB may change or be eliminated by colleges.
It happened to boxing, it can happen to football.

Players would require not only athletic conditioning, but verbal conditioning to be able to constantly say all of that.

Probably not.

Football is going to die a slow death.
Increasingly, mothers will direct their sons away from football due to the concussions. As many note, boxing was the favorite US sport from the 1930's through the 1970's.
Basketball and soccer will be the main beneficiaries of the fall of football (along with X sports).

In terms of NCAA athletics, I believe the correct answer is boxing. I think boxing was eliminated in 1960 after a guy from UW-Madison died in the ring.
But the crowds were at least as big as football crowds. Bear in mind that Tiger Stadium only held 22,000 until 1936, and only 30,000 after that. Boxing was drawing those kinds of crowds, too, especially in the northeast and midwest (they love that shite).

No, because that appears to be the only cool thing about you. Major League is a timeless classic.

Football will still be around in 50 years. It might not be the football we are used to seeing now, but it will still be around.
In 1905 there 19 player deaths in college football. The game faced being abolished and changed, partly at the deft prodding of Teddy Roosevelt who dearly loved the sport. Football will evolve and is already in the process of doing so.
