Yes, MSU's DBs played horrible prevent defense. The real problem with the prevent was it was just a 3 man rush....a 3 man rush with third stringers. Harris had all day to throw, and the DBs did a terrible job of coverage.

MSU ran all over LSU for most of the game even with conservative runs.

No, MSU was running the spread option, with misdirection, cutblocks, and option plays by Dak. At the end of the game, they were running straight handoffs, or QB keepers with no option.

LSU just happened to stuff them on 4th and 1 inside the LSU 5. If they were really being conservative, they would have kicked the FG, but they wanted the 1st down and the TD.

I guess you missed that Dak was the only starter in the game at that point. When MSU made a first down at the LSU 12, two LSU players got hurt (I don't think Day stepped on either of them). After the timeout, the entire second string offense came out, but with Dak at QB.

Mullen didn't want to try the FG, because a) MSU's kicking game sucks; b) He wanted to see what the second stringers could do; and c) he foolishly thought the game was over and was just trying to run out the clock.

MSU took the foot the gas and almost learned a lesson the hard way.

as an LSU fan I will be taking partial credit for their success going forward.

Also on deck Auburn we are going to need partial credit for your next win Saturday
