One would like to think that the cavalcade of comedy that is the UF offense would pad those stats but...

I don't know how we got the 3rd down conversion so low. We gave up so many 3rd downs yesterday. They were like 9-15 of something like that.

They just hardly blitzed and were letting Arky get all those underneath routes and anything the TEs wanted

But same with USCe. That said, I wanna say South Carolina hardly even had 3rd downs

Wow. It's been our biggest problem for years. That's incredible.

Pruitt

Also can you imagine how good our defense is going to be once Pruitt gets his players

While true, TO's are a fickle fate that often is simply luck in the bounce of the ball. In other words, you can't rely on them to win games. But IMHO our positive TO margin is the result of a strategic defensive coaching effort and our defensive players learning and getting more confident in their ability to play tight coverage. It might seem simplistic but a QB is is usually going to throw the ball pretty close to the receiver so it stands to reason that a defensive play playing tight coverage is going to be in position to make a play on the ball more often than a defender giving a 10 yard cushion.

Can we say "Hunker Down" again?

The 3rd down stat can be misleading. I heard Dabu on the radio and they were talking about Clemson's great 3rd down stat. And I am thinking, "because we kept scoring on first down".

When the defense makes a play and gets a TO they go off the field feeling great and itching to get back on the field. A turnover will give a tiring defense the inner srength to go back out fresher than before.

Can't always control the bounce, but we can control how we react to it. Our team is definitely more prepared than they were last year.

Not lucky. Getting better every week is the key. Offenses thinking they can take advantsge of a lackluster secondary and our guys coming up big. Weve been jumping routes and creating havoc in the oppositions backfield. One ofth announcers said yesterday on a pbu "its like he knew the play call", thats preparation. The pass rush and blitz packages theyre throwing out are the difference, absolutely. No time to think leads to bad throws.

shite, even on the offensive side of the ball. We put it on the ground what? 3 times at Mizzou & got 'em all, maybe once yesterday too. Even when we put it on the ground we're recovering it & keeping possession...
