I expect to see a zone blitz 70% of the time from Collins. I think we float a cover 2 and put safety on deep ball duty. This "weak" secondary is not as weak as you think. Question: do you think A&M has a solid run game?

Cover 2? I think that's the look Arky was in when we split the zones for the last few TDs.

By all means.

Do you know anything about a zone blitz?

You realize that we haven't had many issues against quick throws? Our problem has been the deep ball due to using 2nd string in cupcake games and being in prevent defense the last 5 minutes against LSU

If you blitz 70% of the time against us you will have issues with the screen, which is why I'm sure you won't do it

You realize you haven't faced a real QB yet?

Our linebackers can cover crossing routes very well. Especially Matthew Wells.

Please put more linebackers in the game. The more the better, thanks.

You obviously don't know how a complex zone blitz works. Go back to your jar.

I'm just disappointed we don't get to see dillon day play in his old stomping grounds.

All the fake sleeve tattoos and cowbells in the world can't save you from what's coming Saturday.

Mullen is 1-3 vs sumlin, 0-2 in SEC and 1-1 against houston.

I am not an expert on defense, but I thought the main purpose of a zone blitz is to disguise the pressure and confuse the quarterback, making it harder to go through his progression. The weakness is you have DE's and LB's in coverage. It's my understanding as well that the zone blitz is particularly susceptible against an elusive QB, for those reasons.

Nothing is complex about the zone blitz. You sound like those NL baseball purist dorks who think the double switch is some great complicated strategy.

It's meant to disguise pressure and confuse QB reads. Problem is both the "zone" and the "blitz" are susceptible to our designed lateral throws and screens.

Fairly accurate. We have a watered down zone blitz package that we use though. We used it some against LSU, and it was very successful. Secondly, I think Kenny hill has only rushed for around 125 yards this season, so im not too worried about him beating us with his legs

We won't have to zone blitz. Our D-Line (debatably the best in the SEC) will get plenty of pressure on the QB. As for the coverage. We will sell out. Not worry about the run at all. I expect several interceptions by our secondary.

Me? or did you mean the MSU fan above?

Exactly. Another way of saying what I did.

Maybe, if they are quick throws. But I think it's even more susceptible to exploiting the mismatched coverage, like on slants and on plays where the qb escapes the rush and the LB's/DE's have been trying to keep up for 5 seconds or more.

I was more worried about Arkie as well.... then Ole Miss. Not to take anything away from state. LSU was win was very impressive. But for a variety of reasons I don't see us losing against State.

You see they've all fled out of this thread. I want one legitamate reason why Aggy can beat MSU.

Because Mullen cannot get > 4 wins in SEC, something like 3-21 v top 25 since 2009, etc.

Close to last in pass D. TAMU more talented.

Grind comes to halt this weekend, extending Ags v Miss St in SEC to 3-0.
