Good hell...what I think is that it's impossible to compare the body of work of a 13 game season to one that has played 2 games..both against decent competition.

Why not compare the 2013 Clemson and SC games to this year's?

[quote]Perhaps even more frightening if you’re a Georgia fan is this: SC only attempted 5 passes in the second half. That was your run defense that surrendered the game. - See more at: LINK ]

I will have to fact check this but if this is true... our D is even scarier.

We don't know yet. Yea we lost some key players in the Secondary so we probably are a bit less talented than we were. But if those talented players weren't working with Coach Pruitt to his satisfaction then all we can do is say, bye.

There's no talent in the secondary, minus a couple of freshmen. The defensive line doesn't have a ton of talent either. I know most of the people on here spent the off season building up these feel good stories, but the talent just isn't there.

With mediocre recruiting overall under CTG and a lot of experienced attrition, I would argue the defense will be fine. Although, none of us are satisfied with where they are at the moment, they have not given up "the big play" like they always seemed to do under CTG, and even though there have been some wide open receivers, I've noticed that we're quick to get on them and we're much more consistent with tackling. With what he inherited, CJP is making progress. We have to remind ourselves it won't happen overnight; as frustrating as it might be.
Truth is, the young/new players are learning a new system and college football overall, and the returning players are simply relearning the fundamentals that CTG neglected. Baby-steps...

So far, it's pretty much a tie.

We just switched the losses to Clemson and USCe around.

Pruitt's D So Far: 2 exceptional quarters. And 6 below-average to full-on abysmal ones.

Grade: F+ (so far) Troy could potentially bring it up into the D range though.
