BCS used a formula that took into account ranking. Polls don't matter anymore. That is how. Undefeated teams who played a tough enough schedule not to be penalized will squeak in over the SEC which is murderers alley and then get's pissed on for a weak OC schedule.

SEC will be fine.
The real worry is ND. They could limit power five to only 3 slots if they go undefeated or have one loss. This could leave a 2 loss SEC West winner out in the cold.
