Why is it homerism to say AU over USC?
It has been shown in detail multiple times here AU had a more impressive season than USC against a more difficult schedule.
Once someone dives into the analysis. Most signs simply point to AU being better.
And again, the only coach to face both teams flat out said AU was better.

History now shows not only did Auburn play a tougher schedule than USCw and win the games in a more convincing fashion but they were also obviously more talented
serious question, which team was more talented 03 auburn or 03 usc?

Perhaps it wouldn't have been as bad against Auburn, but the Plainsmen just lacked the offensive counterpunch to hang with that USC team for four quarters.

let's just cancel the college football playoff and have frank beamer select the national champion from now on.

neither usc, oklahoma or auburn had particularly hard schedules. during the regular season, usc played 2 ranked teams while oklahoma and auburn played 3. auburns non conference schedule killed them; la tech, citadel and ulm. usc played va tech, notre dame, byu and colorado state non conference. the sec back then isn't what it is today.

Both participants of the 2011 BCS title game would wax 2004 Auburn. 2004 Auburn only scored 10 points against 2004 LSU.

He knows a lot more than the people who have been/are going to decide it.

2004 AU would not lose to a team quarterbacked by Jordan Jefferson.

How bad would 2004 AU beat 2003 LSU, you know, the team that lost by double digits at home to a 5 loss Florida team?
It's so ridiculous to point to our one close game all season, which was against a good team who was coming off a national championship and use that as evidence the other 12 easy wins mean nothing.
I just don't understand how people that are so stupid even live long enough to be of age to operate a computer. What happened to natural selection?

USC and Oklahoma had better schedules. End of story. Period. Full stop.
You guys had the fricking citadel. The only people that got robbed were the fans that paid for season tickets to watch the cream puff parade.
Oh and LSU 2007 and 2011 would have blown the fricking doors off of that auburn team. Y'all act like you were the most talented team in the country

Just four 1st round draft picks. Not talented at all, just lucky.

Facts and shite.

You were not selected for the championship game based on the criteria of the time. You can make all sorts of claims about who you WOULD have beaten, but you were not the national champions. You didn't play in the game.
Facts and shite.

You mean the same JJ that was 3-1 against Auburn during his time at LSU?

2003 LSU defense is top 5 sec defense since the turn of the century.

What? Auburn had close games with LSU, Bama, and VA tech, along with beating Tenn by just 10 points.
2011 LSU and 2011 Bama dominated a far stronger SEC than in 2004 Auburn.
For example, just look at the coaches in the sec in 2011 compared to 2004.
Florida had Zook, South Car had Holtz, Bama had Shula and Ark had Nutt.
I know 2004 Auburn was talented but not as talented as 2011 LSU and 2011 Bama teams.
2004 was the year I stopped caring about the BCS.

Absolutely. 2004 auburn didn't see a defense even remotely close to 2011 LSU. Anyone who thinks they could have run on that LSU defense is just overcome with barner.

Now tell me anywhere I've claimed a championship for Auburn in 2004?

Can you prove any of these claims you keep making?

The 4 future NFL lineman including several Pro Bowl selections. The 2 first round NFL running backs including 1 rookie of the year and 1 Pro Bowl selection. The 10 year veteran NFL level QB muti year starter all say yes. Yes, indeed they would have run on that LSU defense. The 4 NFL caliber wide receivers also tell us they would have thrown on them as well.
To the several posters mistakenly still believing the USCw media generated hype machine of the early 2000's. No, no they were not a better team than Auburn. Schedule was easier, poorer margin a victory and they were overall less talented than Auburn. They may have upset Auburn in a title game, but they weren't better.
