They should call it "Death Toe" or something. Anything more intimidating so people give it some respect lol

Haven't read the whole thread. I don't think it's true. ESPN scroll just said something to the effect of......Nick Saban says there is still a QB competition and he expects both QB's to play against FAU.

there were several tweets before the game that brought to light that Coker wasn't warming up with the rest of the QBs for a while on Saturday, his knee was heavily wrapped, and one individual noted a "limp."

I was at the game Saturday and did see Coker warming up with the other QBs in the Alabama end zone. I didn't notice if he knee was wrapped or not; so if it was, it wasn't a 'heavy wrap'.

I really hope so.

Was disappointed I didn't get to see Jake get any meaningful snaps on Saturday.

Might've just been a tweak, not a complete re-injury. Probably played it safe and waited for confirmation on the MRI.

I really think a rumor like this should be made into a thread. No real verifiable facts to back it up. just my opinion

I put unconfirmed next to it. If it's against the rules the mods can close it. I just thought I'd share what I heard.

Doesn't matter and you could have shared it in a thread already started. This is my opinion as I stated before.

I doubt they would play him, or that Saban would say that he would play this coming week, if he had an injured knee.

I mean, its a damn meniscus... most likely a bs excuse for not living up to all the hype.

Turf toe is bad. Curt Maggitt had it and it severely hindered him. Dooley played him through it until Curt tore his knee during the Mizzou game - the same game in which Dooley decided not to try and go for a score when he had plenty of time and instead run the clock off to overtime. Thank God he did that tho because we could finally fire his arse.

Turf toe can actually end careers and has ended the careers of more than one great player. It just sounds like a non-serious injury because it has a funny name.

The stories I've heard about Dooley's time in Knoxville are mind-blowing! It sounds like he did everything he could to make his players, assistants, and UT alumni hate his guts. Including 1 specific story where he berated the equip. manager for bringing him the wrong orange pants/shoes

Double D also had 1 of the largest recruiting budgets in the nation, but none of the high school coaches in the state/region had any contact w him or his staff...

Vonn Bell grew up a TN fan and wanted to go there but didn't hear anything from UT until Butch took over

if he expects both to play then he's the one that has to make the call to put coker in ...

bama fans are a bit confused about that ...

I completely tore my ACL in a spring game and the pain was a mother fricker for the first two weeks but then I was fine other than my knee cap sliding out of place when I would try to cut. I had a transplant put in four months later. I can't believe the recovery time of some of these kids. Once I had surgery it was a full year before I felt 100%. I was a running back and never trusted my knee in action again. This was back in 05 and technology is a little better now.

That pretty much sums him up. When he was finally fired our first response was Thank God. Few bad mouthed him as the basic thought was 'well, he tried hard but was in over his head' some even thought he was a 'nice guy.' Then everyone from equipment managers to instate HS coaches spoke to the press and then more and more stories came out. And there's been a steady stream since. I knew how badly he was hated by former players and had known that for a while because I know some former players - a lot of the other stuff just amazed me. He didn't treat anyone well.

Jack Lambert's career was ended prematurely from turf toe. That is all you need to know about turf toe.

Not heard that in Mobile. I ask his dad this week. I assumed he would be pissed about lack of playing time but that would explain it. Hope it is just a bruise or something.
