Defense was god awful in the first. Those running lanes were huge. Couldn't tell what adjustments were made from the student section but they worked to perfection. Defense looked much improved from halftime on.

It looked to me like they slowed the defensive line down a bit in the second half. The first half, our defensive line was really aggressively getting in their backfield and Arkansas used a lot of pulling linemen to knock them out of plays. Second half, they slowed the rush down a bit by waiting for it to come to them a bit more.

I think this is exactly it. In the first half it seemed like the d linemen were just taking themselves out of plays and leaving huge holes. It wasn't because they were getting overpowered. I think arky was just well prepared for what we might do and executed very well. I just wish the coaches had made adjustments earlier once they saw that.

In Coach Ellis's post game interview, he said that Arky was lining up in some formations that they'd never been in before and blocking it in a way they'd never done before. Seems they did the same thing they did last year and did shite they've never done before.

He said they made the adjustment at half time. He also said that Therieze was a difference maker and really stood out on defense when he finally got to play.
