Tonight's Math Problem

Here's what my high school freshman is fighting tonight:


You have 2, 3, & 6. You need to use those numbers to get either 8 or 10. Can't use decimals and can't be negative. Ideas? You can only use the numbers once.

(Square root of 36) + 2 = 8

Don't have the square root symbol available on here.

So the problem doesn't say if you can use them 0 times.

2+6=8

throw away the 3 because it's a stupid number

On a related note, the littlun in my house has to write a narrative due tomorrow answering the question "Can culture be a negative". If anyone has any imaginary minds to help me out in suggesting a story line to him I would be thankful. He's in English II GT fwiw
