Besides the 4 team play off, I don't really see this new system being that much better.

30% of your posts have been starting new threads. That's impressive.

If this is the end product, it will not be an improvement. If it is a step toward an 8 team playoff including all conference champions, it will have been worth it.

When you think about all the complaining about teams left out of the tourney in basketball, you have to expect this to be a disaster.

It is far worse. The only correct solution was to use the old system and simply place four teams instead of two.

Putting this in the hands of 13 people is the most idiotic thing that has ever happened in college football.

The BCS should have just evolved into a 4 team playoff. The selection committee will likely become a controversial clusterfrick.

The 4-team playoff is just the start of the ruination of the only sport that the regular season still matters. The northeastern tv types that don't understand or like college football will force an 8 or 16 team system on us, and that will be it. Goodbye to any meaningful regular season match ups between top teams. Will suck all the life out of a Bama/LSU or UF/FSU matchup if both are top teams.

I can't believe people were so foolishly duped by ESPN into thinking a playoff system was an improvement.

They should've kept the BCS, made it a +1, and simplified the computer rankings (which is EXACTLY what Slive proposed back in 08, but only the ACC commish supported it).

meh, I dont like it. We have an advantage when we have 3-4 weeks to prepare. That cant be denied. Yeah, we have lost before in bowl games, just last year actually, but we win, and win BIG far more often. So if we make the playoff, you can bet we will make the ship, but then its just a week prep and then game time. There goes our advantage. Im sure everyone except Bama fans think this is fricking fantastic, and to you, I say suck my weiner.

It will be worse. Now you will have more teams complaining that they deserved to be in it instead 1 or 2 with the BCS each year. Plus the fact that you give a small number of people (sometimes biased and one vote counts a lot more) full control over who gets picked means there is more chance teams get left out or picked based on person reason and not football. Plus the chance they get bribed.

They just need to hurry through this phase and get to power conferences and divisions so the games are all that decides who gets in.

People are going to realize in a few years that the BCS really wasn't all that bad.
