Heard Kareem Canty showed out during the scrimmage. He's going to be a beast next year.

Not sure what to take from him playing with the walk-on squad. They had pretty much every scholarship player on the blue squad and then a team of walk-ons plus Canty on the white squad.

Starting Five for blue squad: TSD at the 1, KT at the 2, Mason at the 3, Granger at the 4, Atewe at the 5. Bowers first sub in along with Malcolm Canada. We looked our best when it was Canada 1, Harrell 2, Mason 3, Granger 4, Bowers 5.

What I took from the scrimmage:
-Bowers is athletic and a threat offensively. He took the ball coast to coast twice and showed he can make quick moves to the rim once he gets into the paint.

-Our best offensive player is KT Harrell followed closely by Mason.

-Effort and positive attitude was apparent throughout the entirety of the scrimmage.

-Pearl preaches getting the ball up the floor and will throw a press on the opponent at any given opportunity.. noticeable difference in ball pressure

-Offensive motion happened quickly.. crisp ball movement and plenty of open shot opportunities for the projected starters.

-KC Ross-Miller has a high motor and made a couple of really athletic plays defensively when we put on a full court press.

-All in all it didn't look anything like last year's squad.

I'll post another update after Pearl Jam.

Canty has to sit this year being an underclassman transfer. So might as well let him play scout and give the "A" squad a realistic look. Plus he gets to go against the "A" team every day so that will help him too.
