92 Bama is best defense I have ever seen.
2010 Auburn O was probably the best considering the defense they faced that year.

starting watching college football in 2001
Offense
05 SC
05 Texas
11 Oregon - outgained LSU 335-275 in a loss, shite on everyone else (yes, yes LSU was clearly the better football team though), lost to SC cause of turnovers and a shitty secondary.
Honorable mentions - 2008 Florida and 2012 A&M. 12 A&M would have been in my top 3 if it wasn't for the bad performances against Florida and LSU
Defenses
1. Miami 2001
2. LSU 2011
3. Alabama 2011
Honorable mention - 2008 USC. Great, but gave up 186 yards to Jacquizz Rodgers and lost to Oregon State. Otherwise could have been 12-0. I think they were better than 08 Oklahoma. 08 Florida vs. 08 USC in the BCS NCG would have been spectacular.

1988 AU defense best in modern SEC history.
Yet LSU defeated them and won the SEC title that year. They were very good but the league's offenses were down as a whole at that time. I'd say they were top ten all-time. The '61, '92 and 2011 'Bama defenses were all top ten, as were '58, 2003 and 2011 LSU. '98 UT was outstanding as was '06 and '08 UF.

While the 08 Florida offense was amazingly explosive, I think the defense is underrated-- it single handedly knocked a team off of the offensive list 2008 OU, the highest scoring offense of all time.

1995 Nebraska is without a doubt the best offense I've ever seen. They averaged 53 points, 399 rushing yards and 556 offensive yards per game. Their top two running backs in total yards averaged 7.7 per carry and there were six other guys who carried the ball that had higher averages than that. Also, the QB averaged 6.2 per carry.
Nebraska beat four teams in the top 10 of the final AP Poll by an average of 30+ points per game. They scored an average of 49 against those teams. The closest anyone came all season was 14 points (Washington State). The next closest was 23 points... Also, they destroyed an undefeated and awesome Florida team 62-24. Nobody had come within 11 points of UF and UF beat the #3 and #4 teams in the final AP Poll. Their margin of victory for the season was 38 points.
Nebraska 95 did to the SEC what it usually does to other conferences - it humbled them. They were pure power and you couldn't stop it.

Auburn still claims it as an SEC title.

Yeah, Nebraska took a completely scary Spurrier team and made them look like a Pop Warner team.
USC/Texas 2005 are up there for the best offenses I've ever seen as well. That game was incredible to watch.
I'd also put the 96 UF offense up there (hell, 95 was up there too). Only three teams held the 96 team under 40. Tennessee held them to 35, Vandy surprisingly held them to 28 and FSU held them to 21...but then UF posted 50+ on them in the National Championship.
Best defenses - Bama 92 and 2011; Miami 2001; 2003 LSU - they only gave up 20+ one time and that was in the last few minutes of the last regular season game with subs in during a complete route of a good Arkansas team; 2011 LSU D probably had the toughest schedule of anyone...
Also, Auburn 2004 was awesome (they reminded me a lot of LSU 2003 on D). I feel like that D probably could have taken out any offense that year on a good night.

We went up 35-0 before halftime and I'll never understand why Spurrier called off the dogs.

I know 21-0
but that was because our offense was atrocious.
I don't know why you are so impressed that you kept a Jordan Jefferson Offense from scoring.

Well the SEC recognizes us as champions, why wouldn't we? Also, who played in the Sugar Bowl that year?
Posted on 8/23/14 at 3:10 pm to RandySavage
The SEC also recognizes that Ole Miss won the West in 03. Can't have it both ways.
Edit: Y'all got to play in the Sugar because LSU had more losses from actually playing great ooc teams.
