Depends on how you measure success. If it's in terms of money probably not for a very long time. Being tied in with ESPN and not a separate entity will halt revenue for member schools.

It's too early to judge but for now what's difference is there really between non stop football, volleyball games, sec stories specials, baseball games, and then some awful basketball that if we're being honest few people and fans care about. If all people want is football and better access to their team and rivals then so be it. That's quantified success.

If the SEC network is to be successful, they need to redefine the television template BTN has laid out vs reinventing it. Til then, just wait and see.

Hrmmmm, $23M per school added on from the SEC Network is waaaaaay more than BTN and LHN. Is call that more successful already and it will only go up when advertisers start pumping big money into it.

Jealousy is real

Sec is getting better at basketball.

There are numerous sports/events that will have eyeballs on secn year round. National signing day will probably beat some big 10 games rating wise. Also, dont forget about college fishing.
