I could see Barber entering before Jovon

Rumor is that Jovon will enter the draft

Like I said four days ago, that is probably the best thing for him to do so he can have a nice career in the NFL.

Difference between 3RD-7RD money isn't all that much just the guaranteed. If you are arrogant enough to think you'll make it there is no reason not to declare if you're Jovon.

Jovon is already 21/22, his shelf life isn't long as a RB

He would have a great pro day as well with his size and speed. There's plenty of film on him as well

Former Alabama running back Tyren Jones, now at Hutchinson Community College (Ks.)..

The 5-foot-9, 210-pound Jones signed with the Tide in 2013 after a stellar career at Marietta (Ga.) Walton. He was an Army All-American and the No. 67 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite.

Jones was dismissed from Alabama after his arrest for marijuana possession.

He has great speed for A 230lb back. Definitely faster than Barber. I don't think he would gain anything by coming back another year. Especially the way we use 2 or 3 backs.

I notice that the AJC article announcing this commitment isn't allowing comments.

I love Barber but I don't think he is NFL quality.

Jovon would be used a lot more if he came back. He would become the primary and probably have a good chance to break some records. However, wouldn't blame any kid who wants to go for the NFL.

This is not the norm for Gus, we are only using multiple backs because nobody is taking the role for themselves.

Me too, if we were going to take a JUCO QB it should have been him and not Franklin.

I don't see his stock being any higher next year unless Jovon does leave and he's our go to back, but even then he has pretty much shown everything he can do. I could see him as a rotational guy in the NFL. Maybe late round but likely UDFA.

If 7 guys graduate in December, yes

you can bring in as many as you want early, you just can't count them all back to the last class' signing number.
I don't think this is true. I think you have to have spots open under the 85 in December. That's why Pat Miller enrolled here as an EE instead of LSU a few years ago. They missed calculated how many early schollies they had available.
