He's a good prospect. Multi-sport athlete with great size and a lot of good offers. Tough to say if 247 will bump him up since there's already 2 4* and 2 5* LB's in state.
He also has been dominating shotput in his region without having ever picked one up before this year

He finished 2014 with 112 tackles. He had five sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and 23 tackles for a loss as Spanish Fort reached the Class 6A semifinals again before losing to Saraland.

Don't cry. Recruiting rankings/stars always change over the course of the year. It is still almost an entire year out.

I think PJ could rise. I don't know much about Moon

Impact Analysis: Tre Threat commit
quote:
When: Threat publicly committed Thursday morning at his school. He chose the Tigers over Ole Miss. According to Threat, he also had offers from programs such as Alabama, Clemson and Tennessee.
For Threat, this pledge was no surprise. In fact, the 247Sports Crystal Ball had Auburn getting 100 percent of the predictions.
Auburn offered Threat on March 7 while he was on an unofficial visit to the school. Since that day, he has made two more trips to Auburn, including last weekend for the A-Day game.
Even before Auburn offered Threat, it was clear he liked the Tigers a lot. Last fall, he attended multiple games at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
quote:
What: Threat is ranked as the No. 16 inside linebacker in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is No. 528 overall and No. 17 in Alabama. His rating: 86.44.
While rated inside, Auburn likes Threat at the weak-side linebacker spot.
He is listed at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds.
In 2014, Threat had 104 total tackles, including 66 solo stops.
Threat is 2016 commitment No. 6 for Auburn. The Tigers moved up three spots to No. 23 in the recruiting team rankings with his verbal.
quote:
Why it’s important: Auburn needs linebackers, and at the same time it's good to land another talented played from the Mobile, Ala., region.
Threat’s ranking might not grab your attention, but his offer list should.
Make no mistake, he can play and this is a big commitment for the Tigers.
Auburn is likely to sign at least three linebackers (as of now) and had none committed before Threat joined the class. With the weak-side spot filled, the Tigers can now focus on the other linebacker positions, notably in the middle where 4-star backer Tre Lamar is a top target.
Threat is a top-20 in-state prospect. Auburn now has two commits from Alabama. Threat joins defensive tackle Quinnen Williams of Birmingham.
In greater Mobile, Auburn assistant Dameyune Craig, a native of that area, continues to do work.
quote:
Keith's video review: Because the strong-side backer lines up across from the tight end, the weak-side backer plays more in space. He must be fast, must be able to play the pass and has to be someone who can maneuver his way through a busy field given the amount of territory he has to cover. In Threat, Auburn seems to have found someone capable of doing all three.
He mans the area known as the weak flat with physicality and agility.
Threat is a big-bodied and physical presence who makes sure an opposing player feels it when he’s being tackled. He’s a player who covers a lot of ground, often in a short amount of time. He seems to have that extra gear.
Threat’s best trait might be his ability to fight through blocks. He is stronger than he appears. He also has good vision and instincts.
On video, Threat also displays the ability to play in pass coverage, though that probably isn’t a strength right now.
What sticks out most is his desire to get physical. He does’t avoid contact; he either initiates it or goes looking for it.
quote:
Final thoughts: Threat is an undervalued asset in our eyes, and those of the Auburn coaching staff. Certainly, he will need some seasoning. For starters, his body needs a little work. He definitely could tone up some. Out of pads, Threat doesn’t wow you. But turn on the tape and you see a guy who can flat-out play. It wouldn’t be a shock to see his rating rise after the fall if he has another productive season.
