To respond to the OP, I'd like to think that Gustav has indeed brought about a New Day at AU.

More than any other HC in my lifetime, Malzahn seems to really enjoy the long hours and hard work involved in getting a team ready for each and every game. I just don't see us ever losing because we come out flat or poorly prepared.

It's always been my dream that we would have an HC who loved game-planning as much as Tubs loved duck hunting, or Bowden loved talking about himself, or Dye loved his Jack. I think we finally have that guy.

I agree. Malzahn wakes up thinking about football and goes to bed thinking about football. He and the players have a bad taste in their mouths from how last season ended. Every interview a player gives, they talk about it. They have been busting their arses this offseason. They'll be ready.

Also, I know Lawson is a good player. But I there were many games last year that Owens outplayed him, including the NC. Many are overlooking Owens, and I think he is going to show out this year. And remember that Holland is gone and Mocrief is gonna be a beast. The defense will be better than last year.

I'm fired up!
