quote:based on what? did you see their defense last year? and they lost basically the entire passing game
They've got more talent than LSU now
quote:so, they limped across the finish line, had a horrible defense that gave up half a hundred to duke and lost their passing game. meanwhile, lsu subbed a green qb and still won their bowl game against a salty iowa squad that was playing pretty good ball at the time. yet, you conclude that a&m has more momentum. makes sense
more momentum
quote:not in any way is this true; talent, coaching, facilities, whatever.
Obviously TAMU is on a much better trajectory than LSU overall

He's trolling. Don't humor him. His obsession with LSU is apparent in his post history

See previous. More money, more fans, more respect within the conference, better state, better brand.
Moreover, you shouldn't shy away from it. TAMU has been set up to be your primary rival. Last year essentially ended the magnitude of Alabama-LSU, and I expect that game will decline in importance as TAMU and LSU engage for the third spot with regularity.

Literally every post from you I've seen are gloom and doom for LSU, and when asked to give reasons, you state ridiculous opinions as if they were fact. Just keep telling us the sky will fall at LSU one day. We'll see, right?

You know it's true bro. Then we will have Bama fans claiming that they're running this site, in our heads etc.

8-4 isn't gloom and doom. I only go negative with regard to folks that laughably think this LSU team is going to go 11-1. I don't think 9-3 is out of reach, which would be a fine season for LSU at this point.
And I'm guessing you only notice my posts about LSU. If I'm obsessed with someone, it's probably UGA or Alabama or Arky. Just ask them.

You act like LSU is some poor 3rd world university. LSU is top 5 every year in profit and is one of a handful of football programs that's self sustainable, but just keep pulling shite out of your arse like you actually know what you're talking about.

LSU fans quite literally run this site.
Even if this board were obsessed with LSU, which is a reach, it'd make some sense considering they probably account for 40% of the posters.

LSU has done amazing things with limited resources
lsu is 4th in the conference in athletic budget. was 3rd until a&m joined. lsu is not "limited."

The "in your head" and -sessed memes on here have been so overblown it has become my biggest pet peeve. The unoriginality, misuse and general deflective tone of such responses is weak.

You're being unreasonable. LSU has done really well for being in a relatively poor state. But now you're confronted with a bigger school that is better in nearly every area, and with way more money. That school is gunning to be your rival.
Those are just facts, you're trying to make it out like I'm disparaging LSU.

Your large budget puts more strain on the school and state than does a large budget at UF or TAMU. Just how it is. Bigger brand and superior state means more money to pull from, more merchandise to sell, etc.
This really isn't new.

Nothing wrong with some spirited discussion, mate.

quote:more ignorance. lsu has a huge alumni assc in houston and lsu gets a significant number of recruits from houston. you have no idea what you're talking about. lsu's presence in houston had essentially nothing to do with the sec bringing in a&m. they were other factors.
That's why they were brought in to pick up a huge swath of territory LSU couldn't really make an impact in.
quote:true, but lsu is still not far behind a&m in total athletic budget and lsu spends almost as much on football specifically. moreover, more money does not equal more success. see: florida.
There is also no dispute that TAMU has more money than LSU.

No, you're being delusional. LSU's athletic program is not going to lose money and fans because aTm has joined the conference. LSU has a firm hold on LA and a HUGE alumni and recruiting base west of Houston. aTm isn't going to change that
