Saulsberry is of helluva good DT if he ever gets to play... Was it his other knee? Sometimes when you come back from a tear the other side tears because of the weight shifts. Happens to athletes all the time. For his sake and ours I hope it's not as serious as it sounds.

We really, really, really, need him.

Rocky Top Insider ?@rockytopinsider 19m Trevarris Saulsberry's injury isn't serious, Jones said. Could be a few days or a week, but Jones said it's not a season-ending deal.

Agree, glad to hear he is alright. I think he could be a big time player on the inside.

Does anyone else feel much better about the OL now as opposed to how they felt at the beginning of Fall camp?

I do. I still wish Blair would step up and take the LT spot from Gilliam. I think we're gonna be pretty damn strong on the interior and moving Kerbyson back to his natural position of RT should help.

Yeah, better knowing they're doing pretty decent. I never put too much stock into practice reports, personally.

I think in many other conferences, this group wouldn't be an issue. But it's almost scary thinking about some of the D lines they'll see this year.

You know I was thinking about Dobbs issue of overthrows... He's bulked up and has got a lot more zip on his passes but he was so small last year and won the accuracy portion of the O&W so I'm wondering if the summer weight and muscle gains aren't causing a mechanical issue. If that's so - he's essentially getting used to throwing with a brand new body and after a while it should work itself out, especially with coaching helping him correct for his new strength and body.

Essentially he just needs to get used to his own gains and train his muscle memory.

ETA: This isn't based on anything new just what we heard early in camp about those overthrows - he's gotten better since then I believe but still has a few things to work out.

That makes sense except didn't he have a good amount of overthrows on longer passes during last season? Seems like he did

Idk man...these guys still throw everyday before and after they workout. I'm not saying that it isn't possible...I just don't think it's very plausible that is what's causing it. I would think it's a mechanical issue from before.

But I don't really know shite.

Listening to John and Jimmy the other day (take everything from this point forward with a grain of salt), Jimmy said that he thinks Dobbs' throwing motion was messed with by the gurus he visited this Summer and that his change in mechanics is impacting his accuracy. Don't know that I buy that, but it is one possibility.

Jones: Making a bowl game is very important. But more important is getting better every day.

Jones: Worley has had a tremendous off season and a very productive training camp. I'm very encouraged by his play

Jones: It was 110 degrees on the practice field today. Today was 1st practice in-season with school. A very productive day.

Jones: We are excited about Hurd and Malone. They have been consistent. I love them dearly and they will be playmakers.

Jones: Derek Barnett is relentless. I am very excited about his play. This freshman class is the foundation for the future.

Jones: When you look at our dining facilities and nutrition bar and meeting rooms. It is a great recruiting tool, great area for development

Jones: To have Curt Maggitt back on practice field was good for us. It was great to have him mentally and physically.

Jones: Justin Worley has more of a command presence. He's being very vocal and has a level of confidence. I'm excited to see him perform.

Jones: The other day Helm, Owen Williams, Von Pearson and Todd Kelly Jr. had their stripes taken off.

I thought our QBS were hot garbage during Fall Camp? So much for that.
