How much do you enjoy black comedy movies?

Wayans Bros., Tyler Perry, that thick-mustached pos a-hole Steve Harvey etc.
1-10 as a genre, where do you rate black comedies?
It's a 3.5 for me. If it wasn't for Bernie Mac (rest his soul) and movies like Life, it would be a complete flat line zero.

2/10. Eddie Murphey movies were solid. Ice Cubes movies are alright. The rest are pure trash.

White Chicks is the worst movie ever made, hands down.
I do get a chuckle out of Madea though.

I had Fargo in mind until I opened the thread and realized you were using the word "black" differently than I do.

Black Comedies are supposed to mean films such as the ones directed by the Coen brothers or Tarentino.
What you're referring to are usually referred to as trash

I'll give it a 2/10, I would've gave it a one, but I like it as a genre better than horror films today.
I mean: today's horror is all supernatural, weird arse, and demonic shite. Back in the day it was wayyy better, just a guy in a mask, and some titties.

I try to live my life in such a way that I never have to see a Tyler Perry movie.

I like movies with black comedy instead.

Only Madea film I liked was Diary of a Mad Black Woman...and that was because Aggiebelle loved that one and made me watch it with her
I did laugh my arse off at A Haunted House (haven't seen the second one).
Think Like A Man was a big pile of "meh," for me.

Older Eddie Murphy flicks (Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop, Harlem Nights) are great.
Tyler Perry is insufferable, it's a travesty that the comedy industry has made him rich.
Bernie Mac was actually pretty funny IMO
Ice Cube is pretty meh overall, but he is fricking hilarious in the Jump Street movies.

If it's considered black comedy - the Friday movies are some of my favorites.

Some are great and many are bad. It's such a mixed bag as a genre.
Great ones include:
Coming to America
I'm Gonna Get You Sucka
Undercover Brother
Don't Be a Menace to South Central...
Friday
Death at a Funeral
Bad Ones:
too many to count

I enjoy them about as much as I would enjoy a herpes/HIV combo.
