They teach all the TEs both spots. Lets them shake out who goes where and injury scenarios.

Darius Hanks had several roles his Senior year, played some spot H-Back, and lined up at RB during the NC game.

Saban doing work. Getting ready to develop another pipeline into another JUCO and in the Midwest. UA taking over.

BTW hate McBride did not make it in. Whether he pans out(I think he does) or not, he took a spot and can not be replaced.

Has any player played multiple positions during Saban's tenure?

Cyrus Jones...started out as a slot WR and now is playin' CB...Sylve was also first designated as a WR (he's now a CB) but I don't think he ever played a significant snap as one...I know Saban's also tried some other WRs & RBs out as DBs but I think Jones is the only one I remember having taken significant snaps at both positions...

Blake Sims played in several games early on as a RB (mostly when the game was no longer in doubt) and was moved to QB when depth became an issue...

He's also moved linemen around but, while those were technically position changes, they were still linemen and I'm guessin' that's not what you were asking...

I think Fowler worked at both LB and RB as a freshman.

I think the question is whether or not we've had a player play multiple positions (like in the same game) not whether or not we've had a player who has changed positions. It's just not something that's happens often (on any team) and I don't expect Bo to play multiple positions either.

Yes Mcbride not making it in frees up a spot for the 85 but not the 25 meaning we can not backcount into it for 2015

I believe if Bo makes it we are at 86 if all the recruited players are on scholarship. We have no problem back counting, we signed 27 but Mcbride did not make it, and Coker and Pettway do not count towards the 25, which means we can back count 1 or 2 in next years class.

McBride still counts against the SEC's 25 NLI limit. That puts us at 25 meaning we won't be able to backcount any next year unless 1 in this year's class is able to be backcounted to last year.
