Ok I'll try again.
My argument is this:
Whether or not we beat you in the regular season doesn't matter at all anymore. 1/9 proved it. The playoff reinforces it.
So if LSU beats Alabama in October, who cares? See you in January.
If Alabama beats LSU in October on the other hand, we still have to navigate what is usually the hardest sec schedule.
Alabama is set up to be in every playoff moving forward if they can split the LSU auburn game.
LSU and auburn are far from that luxury.

And I'm sure when that happens we'll mysteriously go back to the "bridge" schedule so the bama grad director of scheduling can hand pick bama's opponents year by year.
LoL still selling this lie..

Not once has LSU beat Bama but Bama went the the SECG over LSU due to the SECE rotation. It's never happened in the 22 years of the SECG.

Can you comprehend the difference between the argument now that a playoff is introduced?
Posted on 7/27/14 at 4:19 pm to spacewrangler
Even the most ardent bama fans should understand it was out of order when LSU was shunted to play UGA on the road while Bama got Kentucky. Bama was due to play UGA before LSU and LSU was due to play Kentucky.
And after all of the complaining about bye weeks Bama fans lost the ability to make the "just beat your opponents" argument. If that was the issue you'd play any opponents in any schedule format.

It sure was out of order but you do know that the SEC had added two new teams and the schedule had to get moved around which was done by this guy from MSST.

I would have loved for Bama to get UGA vs UK.

What lie?
The head of SEC scheduling and the man responsible for the bridge schedules is Mark Womack, who attended Tuscaloosa High and the University of Alabama ( LINK)
Templeton is a consultant for the SEC, not a decision maker.

but it is not as bad as LSU fans have made it out to be
We have been kept out of the SECCG on 3 separate occasions on eastern division record. That's a pretty big deal.

Saying it's "whiny" is nothing but a tacit admission that someone can't argue the point itself, so they resort to name calling.

Did you even read the article? It clearly states that Templeton is in charge of creating the schedules. You've been brain damaged by the repeated misinformation

The name of the person who supposedly had authority really doesn't matter in the least bit to anyone IMO. Words don't matter, actions matter. The actions taken were to rearrange teh schedule in a way that made no sense if the goal was to be either equitable or keep the normal rotation. LSU should have been @ Kentucky and Bama should have been playing @ UGA.
The Bama/UGA game would have been a highly interesting game that would have drawn big numbers to boot. It would have meant regular season matchups between A&M/USC, Auburn/UGA, LSU/Florida, and Bama/UGA. Instead what resulted was A&M/USC, UGA/LSU, UGA/Auburn, and LSU/Florida. The team that got an obvious pass was Alabama (note they are the only SEC team in the top half of the league not to play a major inter-divisional opponent). It was unfair to the other teams in the league and bad for the SEC not to showcase a major inter divisional matchup between all of the major teams from each division.
Like said before, Bama fans lost all ability to make the "just beat your opponents" argument when they were so upset about other teams scheduling bye weeks before they played... but I'm sure that won't stop more gumps from trying

I think it is lost on some LSU fans that not only is UT just as historically (maybe even more so) good as Florida, they had a better record than Florid last year.

the fact that you think this matters to the point really shows how deeply confused you are about the actual issue.

I don't need to argue with you. I'm just enjoying your hissy fit. We do probably get preferential treatment but it's probably more so the fact that we are the undisputed face of the South Eastern Conference. Same thing goes for why ESPN is all on our nuts.
Oh also the recruiting services.

C'mon man.
It's Tennessee. They can be decent, but they have no elite recruiting base like Texas, la, miss, Bama, Florida, Georgia, south car. ECt.
And before you point to the past, let me remind you that LSU and Florida have a war annually.
You guys have won how many straight?

and they can't sell "being on tv" to recruits they way they could back in the 80's and 90's because everyone is on tv now.

Tennessee's proud history has done nothing to improve the quality of their program of late. It doesn't stop teams like Alabama and Oregon from treating them like a baby treats a diaper.
Florida went through their worst year of football in 40 years last year and still beat Tennessee. Since the SEC expanded in 1992 Florida has beaten Tennessee 17 times in 22 opportunities. In the last ten years they have won 9 of 10.
Historically Tennessee is the more storied program but that is irrelevant unless you are a football historian. Florida today has innate and decisive advantages over Tennessee as a program and that shows in the last several decades.
