i call dtv every year and do this. EVERY YEAR. I have never paid for sunday ticket. I did the usual last week and told them i was swapping to dish. I got the following.
My Bill is now $35 a month
2 extra free hd boxes
sunday ticket free
espn gameplan free
only reason i called was to get sunday ticket and they offered the rest. Every year they accomodate.

Just switched to dish last week. After 2 years I'll try and negotiate with them but if not I'll switch again.

I'll believe DircTV gets the SECN when I see it.
Until then I stand by my reasoning since day one as to why they will not have it ... with the impending merger.
They're not lying ... they will have it one day - when the merger is done.

Then they will lose their entire Disney/ESPN inventory after week 5...
AT&T isn't going to want to buy a network with no subscribers.

AT&T wants the technology and the birds in low orbit. They could give a shite about the fickled subscribers.
They're laughing at this. They win either way.
Don't think for a moment that AT&T didn't time their move strategically to take advantage of all if this. It is brilliant.
Fewer subscribers they pay less per share.
DirecTV pays ESPN, re-ups Sunday Ticket and adds SECN .... and AT&T still wins because their original offer drops due to the added outlays deducted from existing subscription rates.
DirecTV takes a beating either way unless they agree to massive layoffs to bring their P&L back inline.

I'm bwitching from Direct to Dish. I want the SECN and couldn't care any less about the NFL package that Direct offers. I don't care about a "discount" on my monthly subscription either...I simply want the frigging SECN for THIS SEASON!!!!

I tried this and got $20 off per month for a year and free Sunday ticket. It was enough for me for a 10 min convo

The SEC Network is set for one of the most successful sports network launches in history now that DirecTV, the nation's largest satellite company, emailed Outkick that the company is "quite hopeful" and "expects to be able to provide the network soon." The public comments of DirecTV square with the private comments of SEC and ESPN executives, who are confident that a deal is near as well.

I called them yesterday and they told me they'd have it in the Direc TV Select package.
