I see the flames coming off this post. But its the same for all schools fans. It's got a lot to do with other fans looking up and posting the crap about Alabama fans.

First, the vast majority of Bama fans are no different than me or you. Their experience as a fan is different...their feelings about winning is different: Jay Barker last year said "most Bama fans don't even enjoy winning anymore...we are just afraid of losing". But probably 75-90% of Bama fans are no different than the rest of us.

Here is where things diverge. Many people are weak...many people are weak, a-hole douchebags...many people are losers. When those factors come together...they try to find methods of self-affirmation. Things that make them feel less like a douchebag, less like a loser...and considering they are actually losers, they need to lean on something that is 1. likely to succeed 2. Something that they have no affect on and can't screw up. This is where being a Bama fan comes in. If you didn't grow up where being a Bama fan was no more of a choice than being your sex or race, you had to choose. Many choose for the reasons above. Now, there are a-hole, loser douchebags that choose to be Auburn fans...but the vast majority of ours just grew up as Auburn fans...because at an incredibly overwhelming rate, a-hole, loser douchebags choose to be Bama fans. It is the easiest "winning" decision they'll ever make. All they have to say is "I'm a Bama fan", and boom, in their mind, they are a winner. You hear these people call into talk radio shows and say something like "Hey Paul thanks for having me...first off, I'm a Bama fan", and they always pause for affect as if they are waiting to be congratulated.

Take Harvey Updyke...perfect example. Loser, weak, a-hole douche...lives in Texas. Has NO connection to Alabama whatsoever. Sees Alabama winning Nat'l Championship after another and decides to be a Bama fan...then decides to MOVE to Alabama to be closer to Alabama. He chose it for the reasons above. He probably made similar decisions throughout his life. There is no doubt that he became a cop for self-affirmation...so that he could have authority and boss people around and feel tough with a gun on his hip.

Any more text and no one will read this so I'll leave it with just this last thought. It takes a certain degree of mental toughness to be a Mississippi State fan...or Vandy...or UGA under Richt...or Auburn being little bro in the state....pretty much everyone in the SEC has lower chance, perhaps SUBSTANTIALLY lower chance of winning it all in any given season...so it can be tough. Bama is the easiest CHOICE in the country, let alone in the SEC. No one will let you down less often..so if you are an a-hole, loser douchebag, and you need self-affirmation that you can't, as a loser, frick up yourself, you are going to choose Bama.

It sucks for you good Bama fans. Some of my favorite people on Earth are Bama fans...and I'm sure that you grew up without much of a choice, family wise, or chose Bama for the right reasons. The fact of the matter though is that the scum of the Earth is going to choose to be Bama fans 9 out of 10 times...that's why Bama continues to have incidences like this.

For some reason, Bama draws more stupid fans. I think its mainly because alot have no moral standards and they act dumb. Other stupid people see this and want to act that way and are drawn to that crowd. So it keeps adding more and more of that type of fans.

Kids grow up seeing their crazy uncles yelling "Roll Tide" and acting dumb until it grows on them and they start doing the same thing. Auburn fans usually don't go all out acting crazy constanly, so those type of fans think they are boring and go to the bama fans.

There's not nearly enough realist (about how good or bad they really are) or fans who will tell others they are acting stupid or being unrealistic, to keep the other Bama fans in line. Other schools have enough fans who will make fun of and look down on crazy fans and tell them they are sunshine pumping their team and players too much.

Auburn has the same percentage of crazy fans that we do, but we just have more fans so you hear about it more often.

Because their lives don't 100% revolve around the football program.
