1. Oklahoma
2. Texas
3. Missouri
4. Louisiana
5. Arkansas
6. Kansas
7. North Dakota
8. Kentucky
9. South Dakota
10. Alabama
12. Tennessee
13. South Carolina
16. Mississippi
21. Florida
24. Georgia
I was kind of shocked to see Mizzou so high and tLandmass so far down. The profiles of each state are in the link and how they determined the rankings. This one stuck out to me:
KENTUCKY (8th): The odds of you being an unemployed cowboy whose wife just walked out are very high in Kentucky.
ARKANSAS (5th): The great state of Arkansas might have come in first if it didn’t fill its red Solo cups primarily with non-alcoholic grape juice (50th for boozing).

Yeah, it was surprising to me too.

There is nothing about Jackson, MS, that screams country. Maybe if this thread was about hip hop, then yeah, maybe.

Is this another shite on Alabama thread?

If you have to play in Texas you better have a fiddle in the band.

SOUTH CAROLINA (13th): How come nobody in South Carolina has written a country song about the roof on the mobile home collapsing under the weight of the DIRECTV satelite dish?

Ft. Leonardwood count?

How the hell is Georgia 24? I mean I don't think we're super redneck but still that's like the halfway point for all 50 states.

I'm shocked that Kansas has more dirt roads than Texas. Just the sheer size of Texas would lead one to believe it has loads of paved and unpaved roads.
The more you know...

FLORIDA (21st): For every jacked up truck in Florida driven by someone with cut-off sleeves there’s a retired investment banker strolling through town in yellow thong that really hurts the state’s ranking here.
WTF Florida?
WTF Florida?

I've been all over Texas, Louisiana, and a lot of the deep south, but Hannibal, Missouri was one of the most redneck towns I've ever been to.

As hard as we try, we just can't run em off anymore. Too much fricking new Law around. sheriffs, judges and such have discovered progress.

MISSOURI (3rd): It’s fifth for cowboys/cowgirls and it’s got the sixth most performers in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Couple that with being the most alcohol friendly state in the USA and I'm not surprised we're this high.

No state has produced better country music singers than Misissip.
More? Yes. But not better.

This is so much bullshite. Their are country bars that play country music in every state in the union..

That's because all the state-maintained roads are paved. And we have more state-road mileage than anyone else.
Plus in the urban areas all or nearly all the roads are paved.
