Given that they spend money and pay rent for 3-4 years in Fayetteville, pay tuition, etc we at least break even. We are a scholarship lottery state so the state is still funding in-state kids more than out of state. And we don't accept just anybody. We get those kids who are better than lots of the kids who get into Texas schools, but went to "good schools" which were highly competitive.

Many of them do stay. We have a pretty great local economy for a person with a college degree.

Fayetteville has been holding onto more and more after college young people the past several years. Its a cool town and you can find work here.

Depends on the degree.

With some degrees you can/will make more in DFW than NWA, even after cost of living differences are factored int.

I'm not sure what this means. I know Bama and Auburn (and I believe LSU) are offering TX kids in-state tuition so their states are at least subsidizing.

Besides the fact that some may stay (which I agree), there is an ancillary benefit to Arkansas in that it improves the quality of your grads which improves rankings which generates more applications and prestige. It's not all one-sided and I didn't mean to imply that it was, simply that there are more facets to this than simply X then Y.

When I went to the Ole Miss game I was blown away by all the Texas students. If you can not get in TAMU or ut and like fraternal organizations Ole Miss is the winner. Friend of mine from San Diego's kid did not get in A&M and opted for Ole Miss as well next year.
