I think that a premium will be given to conf Champs and it will take at least a full game lead for a non champ team to make the playoff over a conf champ team. There is nothing wrong with this in my eyes. I do think this will cause a shift to 8 games, which is probably the best number for playoffs.

However, I think it would be perfect to go to 16 , if you incorporate the P5 conf champ games ( this would be of course require the B12 to either expand or be allowed to have one). That would guarantee 10 spots to those leagues. You would have to eliminate non P5 league CCG , but in doing so guarantee the top ranked team of those leagues a spot , in one of 3 at large match ups the same weekend as the conf champ games held on campus or at predetermined sites. This would only add 1 week of college football with a 16 game playoff.
