He received an engineering degree at Auburn.

And yes, he's made several private donations to the University as a whole and 1 that I know of to the Ginn College

He is an Industrial Engineering graduate, and he has made major contributions to the Engineering School. His stock options when he was made the CEO of Apple were worth almost $500M. AU has a major Capital Fund Campaign ongoing and many expect TC to be a major player in that campaign.

500M, he probably thinks he is dirt poor compared to others in silicon valley.

There was an article about Cook in one of the Auburn magazines not long ago. He actually heads up one of the engineering programs and helps design and updates the courses to match what is the demands of the workplace.

His technical spot is Chair of the Alumni Advisory Board for the industrial engineering department. He funds a professorship and a few scholarships to that department.

I don't think he is a big contributor to the athletics department where it is seen a lot and I don't think he has given the big money to get his name on the building. I wouldn't be shocked to see the industrial engineering department be renamed the Cook School of IE though.
