Add Stephenson, Ariza, somehow resign Pau and I think you have a decent team.
ETA: Jordan Famar is better than Lin.

I would do it.
quote:
"Two informed insiders have told Charged FM Brooklyn that Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson are currently at a stalemate. The Knicks and Lakers are in talks on a sign and trade that would send Pau Gasol to the Knicks, and ship Andrea Bargnani, Tim Hardaway Jr., and a 1st round pick to Los Angeles. Anthony wants the deal made to pair up with Gasol and be in a position to compete this season. Jackson is hesistant in making the deal because he doesn't want to trade Hardaway who he reportedly hasn't been shopping at all. Both don't see eye-to-eye, and word is if Jackson doesn't make the trade Anthony could balk and go to the Chicago Bulls."
I would do it.

I mean I probably would too.
With that said, this team is not getting any closer to being good.

@daldridgetnt Nick Young's deal to remain in L.A. with the Lakers is $21.5 million over four years, with a fourth year player option.

I feel like we've taken ourselves out of the 2015 offseason as well. And with KLove probably going to Cleveland is there anybody coming up in 2015 that's real great?

I'll just put this here. I posted this earlier in the FA thread.
Good god the Lakers are going to be so fricking bad next year
1. Kobe Bryant: 23. 5M
2. Jeremy Lin: 8M
3. Nick Young: 5M
4. Jordan Hill: 9M
5. Robert Sacre: 1M
6. Jordan Clarkston: 1M
7. Kendal Marshall: 1M
8. Steve Nash: 9.7M
58.2M right there plus whatever Randle will sign for. Oh and we don't even have our first round pick next year. Goddamnit why did LA not go after Stephenson?

That perplexed me, too.
I really don't know what their plan is at this point.

I will say that we should have a shitload of capspace in 2015 with only Kobe and Swaggy P under contract (Hill has a team option) but there's not really any major players that will be available in 2015. I would almost bet Love won't be available and LMA already said he wants to stay in Portland.
2016 is the FA class that we should be targeting. In the meantime, the Lakers should be trying to assemble a nice young supporting cast to attract KD instead of putting a shitty roster like this together.

All signs point to going all out for KD in 2016 so you would think in the meantime that they would try to build an attractive roster with young talent. Having a shitty old roster is why Howard walked and that's why Melo isn't a Laker too imo.
