KC likes soccer because soccer likes them.
It's exactly why the average dude gets pussy-whipped by a not hot girl.
Baseball has broken KC's heart.
They built the Sprint Center for NBA and NHL, neither leagues want any part of KC.
But soccer, soccer wants KC and therefore KC wants soccer.

Why does Mizzou not field a men's soccer team? Just curious. Seems like y'all would be perfect for it and, along with A&M, could help SCAR and KY push for the formation of a SEC men's soccer league.

I don't think soccer has risen much in the US in the last 10 years. But God almighty, if we can get outta this group of death. The media will jizz itself and it'll gain in popularity. I personally would love for this to happen cause the NBA blows. Would love a new and refreshing #2 or #3 sport in the USA.

KC Sporting has a great stadium. I'd recomend going if you ever get a chance. Budweiser seats ='s free beer and food the whole game. Tailgating before games is pretty good for soccer also.
I went to a game last year and had a blasttt.

Read the entire thread.
I'm fairly convinced that there are some children, including this eli worshipper, on this board that do not understand what trolling really is ... or either they just think everything is trolling because they are that insecure. Either way, it's gotten sort of funny in a pathetic sort of way.
For those that do not understand what trolling really is - allow me:

I quit watching the NBA years ago in favor of soccer. My wife and I spent years in Europe and attended so many big time European games that we fell in love with the sport. It may actually be bigger over there than the college game or the NFL is over here quite honestly.

Yeah it's amazing how much they love soccer...hell do they care about any other sport?? It'd be nice if the MLS could become apart of the "Big 4" in terms of pro sports. Just hard to catch MLS games on TV unless you get the package.

I thought SCAR was the only program in the conference that carred about men's soccer.
UK plays soccer in CUSA with the Cocks.
Cats just completed a new 8 million dollar soccer stadium and Stone was built what about 15 years ago for 1 million?

They could remodel the Met specifically for soccer if need be. Got a feeling the SEC baseball tourney will be looking for other venues in the future. Wanna revitalise Bham? Remodel Legio Field.
Metro Bham has about the same population as New Orleans. No reason the area couldn't support a MLS team.

Ehhh, probably 20 years ago or there abouts is when the Stone Family gave the one million for the upgrade. But the stadium itself was built when Mark Berson arrived, or shortly thereafter, I think around '77-'78 or so.
But no, the money Stone gave was for the seats to be updated if I remember correctly. I was out of the country at the time so I don't remember exactly how all of that went down.
I'm glad the Cats upgraded, women's soccer was probably the driving force, correct? Y'all have had a helluva women's program for some time now.

One of my favorite things about the World Cup is how the US gets behind our team then when we lose and other countries try to talk shite we just say "it's fricking soccer. Who cares?"
It gets them all rustled and it's funny to me

Nope, Mitch actually attends games and I think he has really wanted the Men to get better. With historic rivalry in Indiana and growing rivalry in Louisville just think he want's the men to make the jump to the next level. he has already fired previous coach for not getting it done.
UK has so many close D1 schools in close driving range.

Xavier

Why doesn't St Louis have a soccer team?
No stadium is basically the main reason, that and MLS prefers more thriving metro areas more than likely. The hope was that Kroenke would build a soccer-specific stadium like the one in KC, but nothing has happened. St. Louis has a great soccer tradition, SLU has one of the better historical soccer programs and there's a huge Bosnian population here that loves soccer.
Busch held a friendly between Argentina/Bosnia as well as Manchester City/Chelsea. The Dome had Bosnia/Ivory Coast and Real Madrid/Inter Milan, so they are set up for some big-time soccer if someone builds a stadium. As it is they do a great job with the friendlies.
