If UL wins its Regional and an ensuing Super Regional that it would hosted because it is a top-eight seed – against the winner of the Oxford Regional, which includes Ole Miss, Washington, Georgia Tech and Jacksonville State – it will advance to the eight-team College World Series that opens June 4 in Omaha, Neb.

"The (2000) Omaha team (was) a bunch of grinders," Robichaux said. "This group definitely is a bunch of grinders."

A decent amount, I'm not going to lie, I don't think this State team is built to keep up run wise. I think it'll be close b/c UL hasn't seen pitching as good as State will throw but the floodgates will be bound to open at some point if the run support isn't there. Robicheaux, Boutte, and Baranik can be lights out when needed as well.

I've thought this all along. UL is gonna put up some runs, the question is can we match them.

You never know what a team that mashes the ball is going to do against Mitchell. I could see him making them look retarded(well i mean grounders and flyouts). Then hopefully they get a lot of Lindgren the next time we play them. That's what I am hoping in order for us to be able to take the tourney.

Our success against ULL is directly related to how many innings we utilize Lindgren against them. He and Holder are HUGE benefits against teams we haven't played before, especially a team that hasn't seen that type of pitching talent. I would seriously only let Ross go 3-4 innings against them, get 4-6 out of Lindgren and let Holder clean up if needed.

Or just let Lindgren finish the game....Cohen buys to much into having a "closer"

Honestly, Holder hasn't been as good this year.

That's what happens when you turn your back on K phucking P and the almighty powers of the mullet.

ULL hits > 1HR/game... Ross Mitchell has given up 3 total in his MSU career...

Signs pointing to them starting Mitchell in the first game though -- which makes sense, in that we could possibly bring him back on Monday.

Seems we're going to give Fitts the shortest leash possible against ULL -- and put that one on Lindgren's shoulders...

If true, we desperately need to get up several runs (not likely) on SD State to avoid having to go to Lindgren and Holder in the 1st game.

I don't see Cohen flipping our rotation.

Cohen said that we will get a definitive answer on who is today...

You don't think the guy that has gone with a different lineup in every game this year would flip the pitching rotation if he thinks it gives us a distinct advantage? In reality, Butch will probably make that call though...

1-10: how confident are each of you about our team in this regional?

This year I'm a 6, when last year I was 9/10.
