Greg Robinson and Dee Ford each have a chance to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night -- and one of their best friends might be the one to make it official.

Shon Coleman, the rising sophomore who is competing to take over Robinson's spot as Auburn's left tackle, will announce one of the 32 first-round picks Thursday night in New York City. The NFL has a long relationship with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is where Coleman underwent chemotherapy in 2010 after being diagnosed with leukemia.

Coleman's appearance at the podium will be prefaced by a short segment chronicling the Memphis native's long journey from St. Jude to Auburn and, possibly, a starting role this fall. It's unclear which pick will be Coleman's to announce.

Would be really cool if he announced Robinson or Ford

Also, here's a video from St. Judes that details Shon's journey from high school to cancer survivor. Worth the watch if you have time

Why don't they just let him announce G-Rob?

@JoelAEricksonAU: Heads up, before he's on TV and you get worried: Shon Coleman's left hand is heavily wrapped. Jammed it on A-Day, will be fine.
