Jeremy Hill will be the best back in the NFL from the SEC this year.

He has it all. If he was in Auburn's system and got Mason's carries he'd have all-time great season numbers.

Hill is the complete package. He certainly packed Auburn's shite in tight.

This video, in the link, says Tre Mason goes in the 2nd round.

Mike Mayock: Tre Mason is probably a 2nd-round pick. We know he can run. Biggest weakness is pass protection.

Well that eliminates Tre Mason...

I can find a few links too that show Cyrus K. and AJ going in the first round, but consensus is they are in the second round somewhere.

LINK

quote:

Kiper said. "I would say third round for him."

LINK

quote:

Although the Eagles likely wouldn't take Mason in the second round -- or probably even the third -- the fourth round is a different story.

LINK

quote:

the NFL Draft Advisory Board reportedly rated Mason as a third-round pick.

LINK

quote:

Despite being one of the best running backs in the country, NFL scouts aren’t that high on Mason and don’t view him arse a game changing back that will dominate draft position.

According to NFL.com reporter Albert Breer, NFL scouts are looking at Tre Mason as a system back and his success at Auburn is being credited more for the offense he runs in than Mason’s ability as a back.

As one NFC GM said, “He’s a solid runner, but my gut is the offense is really the engine that drives the production. … ”good speed, balance, burst and vision” and added that while Mason “lacks size,” he “has shown up on film each year before this one” (when Gus Malzahn arrived on the Plains).

Kiper
I stopped reading here. Anything posted with Mel Kiper or Todd McShay deserves to be laughed at. Mike Mayock blows both of those clowns out of the water.

Per NFL.com, Tre Mason's draft projection is in the 2nd round.

Per CBSSports, Tre Mason has a 2nd round draft grade (#54 overall).

Per Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins might draft Tre Mason in the 2nd round.

Per SBNation, the Tennessee Titans could (in the mock draft) draft Tre Mason in the 2nd round at pick #42.

So, obviously, Tre Mason is not a consensus 3rd-4th round pick like your OP states. The possibility of him going in the 2nd round is real, and could happen.

When you go to his profile on NFL.com it says the following

quote:

DRAFT PROJECTION Round 2

So "consensus" sure doesnt sound like the correct word

Well I thought it was based on the adamant he's going in the second round, but TTs is proving me wrong.

I think he could go in the second round but I could also see him going later.

I would be elated to get him on the Falcons in the early 3rd round. With our needs though I cant see taking him in the second with where we pick.

I'm not even saying Tre Mason is going in the 2nd round, I'm just proving BamaDoc's OP wrong.

Tre Mason is not a consensus 3rd-4th round pick.

Im sure he meant consensus 3rd or 4th back in the draft. But really its 3rd best back in the draft

As is the possibility of somewhere jumping into the first round or early second to pick up AJ McCarron, but that gets laughed off the board. And as many times as Kiper has been wrong, Mayock is right there with him.

You're supposed to think its McCarron and then BAM. It's Tre Mason!! What a trickster.

Tre Mason will be a much better pro than Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. He would be a steal in the 3rd round.

And I have said as much, based on teams reaching for quarterbacks even though they are drafted before they should be (Christian Ponder, EJ Manuel, Tim Tebow, etc).

No shite? It's the SECRant. Does that mean you made this as a response thread?

As many experts have stated, If he is still available, he will be snatched up quickly
