I didn't know it was an actual rule. I thought only individual schools can control what limitations are placed on a kid getting out of an LOI. Intredasting.

ETA: After looking at that guy's twitter feed, it seems like no media had ever heard of this rule.

Come to think of it, Jalen Steele signed with Mississippi State after being released from Auburn after Lebo was fired.

Is this rule legit?

Damn, a Vol writer tweeted that Cofer plans to ask for release. I know it doesn't mean he won't still end up a Vol, but I still wasn't expecting that one.

Now it's all 4 signees, looks like he'll be filling the roster with southern miss signees which he said he wouldn't do.

He's off to a great stop.

I know Cofer asked for his release, but do you think he still signs with y'all or what?

Hard to say. Both parents are UT Alums and bleed orange, so there's the loyalty to the university there. But, I think that he's wanting Tyndall to recruit him all over again so they can get feelers for the situation.

It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. He's the only one out of the 4 that I wouldn't want to see go

The rule is probably legit, but I imagine the appeal process is not very difficult.

Alabama and Auburn have both reached out to Cofer according to people on twitter so I'd assume their compliance people know how to get around it.
