I'm not arguing, just saying they were both bad in different ways. ......and yes, I did just use past tense

I mean they play each other every year but I wouldn't call them rivals

Vanderbilt seriously hates us. I mean seriously. Middle Tennessee Vol fans seem to really hate Vandy. E. TN and W. TN Vols don't really care that much but Vandy and Middle TN Vol fans hate one another at an Iron Bowl level of dysfunction.

Why does LSU not have a rival? Most national powerhouses do. Damn, answered my own question. Flame on

LSU just beats their rivals into submission. LSU's rivals are all mediocre now.

Because despite Tennessee having their worst decade in history they still have more SEC titles than everybody not named Alabama.

See LSU - this is why you need a rival.

The fact that I love Bear losing his last game vs UT says it all.

My favorite Bear quote was during Neyland's retirement banquet: "Thank God the old guy finally quit."

used to be much worse

of late LSU owns Tennessee. arguably the 2001 SEC CCG was the end of the road for Tennessee's relevance as a national program

LSU is awfully obsessed with a program it deems irrelevant. Where were you when we were beating up Bama? Now y'all mad because you can't do it yourselves.

back when you were beating Bama Clinton was in office and LSU was going through the worst decade of football in the history of our program

we don't care about your program any more than we care about any other formerly relevant program with an inflated sense of importance

one of the most hilarious displays I've seen was the 1990 showdown between Alabama-Tennessee.

Alabama had NO offense in that game but they had am All-America kicker in Philip Doyle.

he hit like a 45 yarder or so to win it on the last play. Alabama had started that year out 0-3 losing all of their top offensive weapons along the way.

Dale Carter fumbled the opening kickoff in that game, set the tone.

it tripped me out thinking how the year before the game ended in a 47-30 final.

Bill Curry never lost to Tennessee while at Alabama but never beat Auburn.

guess we know why he "resigned"

We had the best conference record but were on a postseason ban. Again.
