I kind of understand how Auburn-Georgia are because Auburn is virtually in Georgia, but how did the third Saturday in October get so big?

They were both really good for a long time.

why is LSU claiming whatever rivalry they're claiming right now?
it's sport rivalries they all have a bit of ridiculousness to them

All LSU fans think college football started in 2000.

Bama hate UT because they have tried to out-BS them in the fake NC department.
UT hates Bama because Kentucky and Vandy can't be their only rivalries.

Border states, lots of mix between the fans in each state and obviously the historical greatness that has carried the SEC....duh

Auburn and UT used to have a big rivalry going.
Their UT and Florida rivalries used to be big deals. Now, they have played them something like 5 times in the last decade.

How much longer until both schools ban cigar smoking anywhere on campus during a victory?
I'm surprised that tradition has lasted so long in today's PC world.

Backs out of thread
Both teams haven't been good in the same year since I've been alive so I never cared to watch it. I enjoy the AU-UGA game and iron bowl every year, but this rivalry never interested me. Y'all don't seem to smack talk each other on here either.
