Yes.

So is your argument that Haith leaving is not good?
And if so do you realize how far in the minority you are on that one?
I remember a Haith quote after a game where the offense was basically run down and toss up a 3 and he said "Well if they would have went in it would have worked'.
The guy's teams were painful to watch. A majority feels this way. You are welcome to your own opinion.

quote:Yah that was totally my point.
Because the competent way to get success out of your players is to scare them and to make them nervous so that they second guess their actions and don't want the ball in high leverage situations because they're too scared to make a mistake.

You can put Iowa State ahead of Mizzou, 1984 Final Four. Mizzou was like 6th in the big 8. I want to cry. lol

But it seems like this argument is based upon the idea that rebuilding sucks and we will definitely lose our recruits. If the second doesn't happen, the 1st might not be as bad as you think.
And just because rebuilding sucks is no reason to give a coach a contract extension at the end of the worst season of Mizzou basketball (from a product standpoint) that has been produced for a coach we didn't fire.

Rebuilding does suck, but it's the result of doing a haphazard job on hiring the coach last time. There are a lot of good possibilities and there is no reason to f this up.

And yet I don't see a lot of optimistic posters when they consider that Mike Alden is choosing the next coach. Seems like most expect MA to screw it up.
Don't get me wrong, I want Mizzou to come out of this situation a better program. I just don't see it.
Just know, we're not gonna see eye to eye on this one. While the current situation is grim, I thought Haith had the pieces in place to be back on the upswing by 2015-2016. Y'all don't agree with that assessment and think Haith was leading the program down the drain. So, when I consider where I thought Haith was taking the program, I don't think the new guy will be able to do it, especially if any of the players leave. Then throw in the unfortunate problem that coaching changes have something around a 50/50 success/failure rate, and I'm less excited.
On the other hand, y'all think Haith was destroying the program. Thus, a coaching change, even to a less than great coach, is still better than Haith. In y'alls eyes, Haith is dogshit. Well, the new coach can just be mediocre and still be better than Haith. Right?
Once again, it just comes down to the fact that I think Haith is a good coach who is criminally underrated by Mizzou fans. Y'all think Haith is the worst coach of all time and that I'm criminally overrating him.
Only time will tell who is right. If Mizzou ends up a national champion and Haith ends up sucking at Tulsa, I will be more than happy to admit I was wrong.

Does anyone else see the irony in this situation?
Mizzou BB has been in a decline and FB taking the spotlight. The old guard SEC fans did not expect anything from Mizzou in FB, but did in BB.
I am way past ready for some positive Mizzou headlines!

So, Mizzou was the 4th or 5th best team in the Big 8?
I didn't say we won it all that much, but who was the last team to make a clean sweep of the Big 8,, umm,,mmm I forget..
What I said was we competed well verse the best teams on a very consistent basis, and that is true. We had very few performances that the effort on the floor left the fans embarrassed which is what we have seen a lot of lately.
Yes I would be very happy with a return to that kind of play, thanks for your input but you have failed to change my mind, in fact I'm more certain than ever it would be good to get back to what we(some of us) remember.
