Ingram and Trent are both busts.

Considering that both are still in the NFL that is way too soon to declare. Ingram average 4.9 YPC which was 8th in the NFL for guys with over 75 carries.

Saints fan here. F*** Ingram...terrible.

Won't know until Ingram goes to a team where he has a chance to be a feature back...as long as he's at N.O., with the success they've had under Payton's offensive system and with Brees at QB, that's not likely to happen...

Ingram's rushing numbers are similar to Bush's when he was at N.O.; in the 3 years since Bush left the Saints, he's had a couple of 1,000+ yard seasons and in the other he got something just short of that (980+)...Ingram's career yards per carry currently stands at 4.1 and in the NFL, that's certainly respectable...

I hope the Saints realize how "terrible" he is and release him so my Falcons can pick him up...I think he'd fit in just fine in our offense...

Ingram will never be a feature back. Bookmark it. And Bush is a much better back than Ingram, not to mention they are completely different backs.

Bama fans still making excuses for Ingram

With Richardson it was, oh he's in Cleveland then he gets traded and he just needs to learn the playbook!

Wish you would have started it in '91...when UT had to tackles go back to back and three go in the first round.

From this list, who would be the Top 5 SEC first round busts since 1992?

I know people will throw out Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram's name for this list in part because Ingram's first 3 and Richardson's first 2 years have been subpar (and maybe rightfully so), but it may be a little early for those 2 and many others on the list. There are quite a few on these lists that should probably make the top 5 bust list at this point before you put any of these guys from the last 2 or 3 drafts.

i think i know why he went with 1992, 12years, instead of 94, 10 years:

UF 23
LSU 18
UA 21-3=18
UGA 18-1=17
UT 17-2=15
AU 12
ATM 12-3=9
OM 8
MIZZ 7
SC 7
ARK 7
MS 4
UK 2
VU 2

1. You can't count.

2. 1992 is widely considered the beginning of the new SEC era with the SEC championship game.

Well, first of all - this is the 2nd time you've posted in this thread "12 years instead of 10"...

2014-1992 = 22 years

Secondly, 1992 was the year the SEC expanded to 12 teams and started playing a conference championship and that year is generally used as a cornerstone for stats.

20 years would have been completely arbitrary. 10 years would have worked, but that's not a big enough window to start a thread for. Same with 5 years... Most people remember their own team's 1st round draft picks over the last 5 or 10 years.

Maybe not...but with the Saints, he'll never even get that chance...

Again, maybe you're right...but Bush never got a chance to be the feature back at N.O. either...and when given that chance by the Dolphins, he promptly became a 1,000 yard rusher his first season with them...

I also remember many Saints fans bitchin' 'bout Bush when he was there...and also cheering when he left...so y'all weren't too happy with a "much better back" either...

No need to make an excuse for Ingram...he's never had a season where he's had more than 156 attempts and he's on a team that hasn't had a true feature back since Payton's been there...not knocking the Saints' system as it's been highly productive but it's not a system that's gonna feature a traditional RB...

You'll notice I didn't mention Richardson...while I think it might be a little early to call him a bust, he's had his chances at being the feature back and he hasn't produced. All I'm saying is Ingram is playing in a system where he has yet to get, nor is he likely to get, that chance...

Edited OP to add the Tennessee guys and Mark Barron.

Let me know if I've missed anyone else.

frick you Jim Haslett.

they even traded up to get this guy.

at least they brought in John Stinchcomb in the 2nd round though. He actually amounted to something with the team.

2011 - Mark Ingram - RB - Saints

not a feature back. Horrible pick for the Saints so far.

I'm not even really bashing Ingram. I think the Saints just overreacted because they had a rash of injuries at RB in 2010.

Trent is not a bust.

He's off to a nice start.

not too often a team trades away a player who was a Top 3 pick in the draft so soon.

the guy only played in 17 games for the Browns before they felt like they could better the future of the franchise.
