Tennessee basketball has no history, at least on the men's side

They've had recent success. It doesn't surprise me that they want more. I think they're one of the better basketball teams in the SEC so I don't expect them to do less than shoot for the stars.
why is an auburn fan in a basketball thread? you are the one team in the SEC that is worse at basketball than Tenn.

Agreed. Which is why I don't really count it, even though the school does.

The same people who try to use past history as a reason UT isn't a top program in basketball in the SEC are some of the same people who will say "stop living in the past" when talking about UT as a top football program in the SEC. Pretty remarkable. Over the past 15 years or so, UT is a top 3 basketball program in the conference, which isn't bad when the other two programs are Florida and Kentucky, one of which had no history to speak of until their current coach. Tennessee's facilities are currently some of the best in the country. They have a ton of fan support and have had recent success. The reason Cuonzo was never fully accepted is that he was never going to take UT to the levels Bruce Pearl did.
