I have a class ring. I just don't wear it very often.

Class rings represent your class.
Aggie Rings symbolize the university, and we can spot em from across a room, airport, restaurant, conference, bar, etc.
They're a very welcome sight--particularly when you're away from "home."

Nothing personal towards any school here.
But the Aggie Ring is as significant to us--in many ways more so--as the diploma.

It isn't. There are a lot of stupid people in here.

It is less common among younger people, but I interact with a lot of older guys who wield political and business power, and a large number of them wear them proudly.

My wife has a UGA ring, moreso because she went through a lot to graduate. Moreso a memento of how hard she worked and pushed herself than an expensive bumper sticker she wears on her hand.

As for me, I didn't bother buying a high school ring let alone a college ring.

I know several guys who got rings from Bama. Usually only seen on game day though. I could be wrong about the other days of the week, I don't know, I never bought one

Is this how they distinguish themselves from sidewalkers?

ya I suppose that's a good way. Either that or just another weird thing that bama does that the tSECr likes to poke fun at (ie shakers)

It's a mark of enormous pride to have graduated from A&M, and it's a very big deal to get the honor of wearing the ring. Sorry you can't understand that.

It's the mark of being an a stereotypical Aggie. Sorry the rest of us can't appreciate prostate stimulation the same way you can.

Yes. I never bothered with getting a HS ring but I wear my university ring all of the time. It's something I'm extremely proud of.
