Auburn fans from the state of Alabama seem to be nice people who you can exchange a light back and forth with - "have you got a sec?" "yea yea, we win our championship games"

but if an Auburn fan comes from the state of Georgia that person is usually twat

it's like Auburn fans are always talking trash about non alumni, Auburn dudes from Georgia have serious issues having a civil conversation

just thought I'd throw that out there

edit: to be fair a lot of our non alumni are bat shite crazy

Maybe it's because we don't give a shite if you're a bama fan, and have no want or need to have a conversation with you.

I've never once walked up to someone I didn't know wearing a bama hat to engage in a conversation. Yet, it never fails that if I go out wearing an AU hat, some frickstick is gonna feel the need to inform me that he/she is a bama fan. Congrats, I did not ask but whatever.

Doesn't happen here in Georgia very much, most likely because Georgia-based Bama fans are probably alum. But damn near every time I'm at the beach, some a-hole is gonna need to inform me of this must know info.

All of this.

Some douche did that to me when I was checking into a hotel in Texas, then got pissed at me when I just ignored him.

With certain people you could but as a whole I think Alabama people take their school and themselves less seriously than Auburn fans. A lot of Alabama fans are arrogant about football which can be plenty annoying. A lot of Auburn fans come off as thinking they are actually better human beings morally than others due to their Auburn association. Some of it on both sides is clearly tongue in cheek trolling (fans on this board...like Trey, TnM, etc) while some of these fans really believe it (David Housel, etc).

The guy is right about georgia-based AU fans being put off by unsolicited shite talking though. But I think georgia-based bama fans are the same way.

I would imagine they would have the same reaction to me coming up unsolicited as I would them.

I do love how they justify thier douchyness with the standard "Oh you would have done the same to me." BS.

My god this is so true. Happens quite a bit around here where I live in Bham. I'm always like "K, I dont frickin care, does it really matter that much to you?"

They will say, "Roooll Tide" when I walk by or use my Regions AU card.

"The same way Auburn people are acting in this very thread while referring to Auburn?"

Exactly. I'm not sure there is another school's fanbase or alumni that believes in the romantic myth of themselves as much as Auburn people do. They then have the nerve to project their holier than thou arrogance onto Alabama alums as if WE alone are the truly arrogant ones about our school. You have post after post and countless other examples of Auburn people referring to Alabama people as "subhuman trash" and making no distinction between alums and non alums. Yet WE are the arrogant elitist ones.
:lol

Auburn is an above average school that has pockets of excellence throughout the school. If Auburn fans left it at that and didn't act as if setting foot on Auburn's campus was some mystical, religious, or holy experience, people would take you guys more seriously.

hey I get that same crap from Auburn fans when I'm in Georgia or the pan handle and the past couple of months Birmingham Barners have been plain obnoxious

but Auburn people from the state have a sense of humor about it, it seems that the Georgia section seems to take things a lil too seriously

man I have heard that "got a sec?" everywhere the past couple of months so this Auburn fans as innocent wallflowers getting bothered by obnoxious Bammers image you guys are trying to paint is kind of bull shite

from the outside, huge difference in the overall level of fan. bama fans are some great people but then a lot of shite heads, Auburn fans are more great people with a few shite heads thrown in.

Honestly, if I see someone up here in VA (or when I was in OK) wearing AU gear, I'll usually greet them - and be glad there's someone around who understands real SEC football.

When I lived in Georgia (Newnan area) the AU fans I encountered were complete twats and tools. Some were cool though. I think they were trying to overcompensate for being around so many UGA and GT fans.

When I lived in Alabama (B'ham suburbs, Alabaster) I had friends from both fandoms and we never cared one way or another. The Iron Bowl was the only day we talked trash, and even then it never meant much. We'd hang out the next day regardless of who won and not give a crap.

I can't speak much on rural Alabama, but suburbia Alabama both fanbases were indistinguishable from each other except what color hats and shirts they wore on gameday.

well that's the thing about going to high school in the BHam area - half your friend went to Auburn and the other half went to Bama

...well it's not exactly half and half some poor morons end up at Jeff State and I had a few Auburn and Alabama friends had a lil too much fun and ended up either at a community college or the Ur arse is Back program

Not really. We laugh at Auburn just like you guys laugh at us. The only difference is, the team we follow has won more over a longer period.
