Are you really going to compare UConn and A&M basketball as if sanctions would have the same impact? That's like saying Texas football losing 3 scholarships to a violation is just as damaging as if it happened to Kentucky football. One program is clearly more equipped to deal with an embarrassment such as that than the other.
Never mind that UConn lost Roscoe Smith to UNLV, Alex Oriakhi to Mizzou, and Jim Calhoun was forced into retirement over it. It also is one more negative BC can throw on UConn to continue to block their entrance to the ACC.

Not at all sure what you are basing this on. The fact they are in the Final Four??? RC correctly lays out the athletic impact but the academic impact has zero to do with any of that even
