I dont know. Our staff has had injury problems recently. I kind of like having the depth. I think Miller still has upside and can grow into that. I dont think he is a #1 in rotation prospect anymore but const controlled starters are fairly valuable.

I dont think Rosenthal will move to a starter role in the foreseeable future, just my opinion.

The questions for me would be, is this the real Lance Lynn or is he the guy that his career stats says he is. He has only had one great half of one season. What is the long term on Wacha and his arm? Lackey is getting up there, what will he be after another year on that Arm.

Its not that Im against moving Miller, it would have to be in a good deal that brings long term value to the organization

I agree.

Echo these concerns.

With slight hesitation I still move Miller.

With 4 guys slotted in (yes, some of them have question marks about health ect) and arms like Gonzalez and Martinez ready to be in a rotation next year I say adios to Shelby who has been a borderline bad egg -- issues with drinking/fighting in the minors (hardly something I hold against him, but it did happen), wouldn't listen to minor league instructors about throwing the curve, shook off Yadi so much they put a no shake rule on him, and a terrible attitude at times, especially in interviews.

Kind of a silly thing to bring up right now, but oh well.

Yea, I have seen much of that as well. I think he either "gets it" by the end of spring training next year or you look at options.

No man, think trading from our starting pitching strength makes sense. Im pretty conservative in these types of things. I would be a terrible GM. All sports, hockey,football,baseball...

Peralta with another bomb. MO might be a lightening rod for some but I think he finds deals in the FA market.

My disliking of the Peralta signing is well documented, but got to give credit where it's due, he's exceeded my expectations. Can't really ask for too much more than what he's given.

Now getting 3 more years of this kind of production -- we shall see.

Holliday gets to 20 HR..... again. He has been "clutch" going down the stretch.

I know he have some Holliday haters here but the man is helping carry this club right now.

Looks like the Royals are gonna make the playoffs but I can't see them getting too far. Royals don't have enough offense to get past a hot hitting team, their only hope would be stellar pitching and lights out defense every game.

Guy had a bad year for what he's expected to do.

He's not clutch, he's just good, there's a difference. But I'll pull back, the clutch argument is really impossible to put into words.

I wish he'd put 2 and 2 together, which might be asking a lot from him, but it seems like an easy enough task. He turns it on in the second half every year, his body really looks more fluid and mobile this time of year -- you'd think he'd realize that maybe he works out the wrong way in the offseason, the guy trains like a linebacker instead of a baseball player.

I'll be waiting to see if he does anything in the playoffs. If he does it will be the first time he's done a thing in the postseason. Everyone tee'd up in the NLCS series vs the Brewers, other than that series he's been pretty ghostly.

The key for me will be not if he turns it on in the 2nd half, like he has done again, but does he stay healthy come playoff time, which he tends not to do.

If he really shows up this postseason I'll forever change my opinion on the guy, until then he's suspect in my often overly critical book.

For his 'legacy' he really does need to have a big showing this postseason.

Honestly, screw Lackey.

What a selfish turd.

My nose detects an odor when I simply look at his face.

How can you be a veteran like himself and not be team first guy.

When Carp was upset about coming out it was a little different, the guy was a team first, organization first guy through and through. Lackey is just a bitch.

Gimme Joe Kelly any day. Especially over the next few years.

He always has been.

I remember thinking he was a bitch when he was in Anaheim. That didn't change in the WS last year, and it hasn't changed since he's become a Cardinal.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if they left him off the postseason in favor of Miller, and then dropped his arse altogether for next season.

I didn't really know much about him other than he's always been pretty good.

When we got him I got texts from a few guys from out of town letting me know he's a turd.

Surprising myself with this, but I'd like to see Miller on the postseason rotation.

Does Lackey pitch for 500k with a smile next year if he's left off the rotation? Can't see him being a happy camper if that happens.

He has always had that reputation. Not that he didnt work out some wins in his time but that he was high maintenance and the level of talent never matched the required level of "care" needed.

Miller is gonna get it figured out. Might not be a 20 game front end type but he may very well settle into a very good 2/3 guy on this team.

Holliday butchers a base hit and leaves the game.

You heard it here first folks, that baby back bitch will be hurt all October.

Cards supposedly backed in to playoffs?

Pirates are the team to watch because of their hot September?

September records

Cards 19-7
Pirates 19-7

Hmm, ESPN is confused again.

So what's the rotation gonna be?

Who's on the roster, who's off of it?
