Many posts on this page are talking about Canty at PG but has anyone considered him for the Denson slashing and scoring 2 guard role with TSD playing the point? With KH graduating next year as a scoring perimeter player Canty at the 2 in 2015 is a very attractive idea to me, especially to balance what Bowers will hopefully be doing inside.

He turns it over a lot, but yea I would love to have him. Bama got Tulanes PG to transfer in, he'll show out for them next year.
Yeah, Ricky is pretty good. He is my ex girlfriends and my daughters cousin, seen him play alot

Kareem Canty is a proven PG. 16.5 PPG and 5 Assists in Conference USA as a true freshman is pretty impressive.
I was looking through his game logs he scored 20+ points in about 9 games as a true freshmen. That's impressive.

He's too small at 6'0 to consistently play any other position. Sure they could run some sets that move Canty to 2 guard, but think of the mismatches that would create when a lot of teams running 2 guards that are 6'4ish.
Also Canty isn't going to run off ball screens and knock down 3's. He's best with the ball in his hands creating looks and dishing.

I agree for the most part but Boatright and Napier at UConn prove that with the right 2 players it can work even if they are vastly undersized.
ETA: Even though they are both freshman Canty is 2 years older than TSD and only shot 37% from the field last year. He is a typical NYC PG in that he has never met a shot he didn't like. He took 100 more shots as a freshman than CD3 did as a senior. Do not want.

This is what I was getting at. He isn't a spot up jump shooting guard that runs off screens. His ability to get to the rim and score though makes him a take for me as a PG.

For those who don't want to click on an undescribed link, it's an article about 2015 big time SF Danjel Purifoy discussing recruiting, specifically AU moving up his list and AU assistants blowing him up via phone, twitter, etc.

-Can't make it this weekend because of sched conflicts but will likely visit
-main AU selling point was opportunity to be an immediate contributer

It sounds like we're only looking for one more player to sign. Is that true?
Obviously depends on if Logwood stays or not.
