Quotes from Kareem Canty per AUC who will visit AU next week LINK
quote:

I'm going to take a visit to Auburn, then I'm going go visit South Florida and Penn State and then I'll make a decision," Canty told AuburnUndercover. "I should have everything done in the next three weeks."

"I've been watching him (Pearl) since he was at Tennessee," Canty said. "I thought initially that was a great move. It would be an honor playing for a Hall of Fame coach like that."

(Deciding factors) "The love from the fans, the fan base," Canty said. "How fun the city is. The tempo of how the coach wants to run the game and how I fit."

(His best qualities) "My will to win and my leadership," Canty said. "I can make my team better."

(On helping AU become good) "It would be great," Canty said. "It's something that I would want to do and something I could do.

I wish we would pass on him. TSD is a better player imo and there is a highly ranked 2015 PG, whose name escapes me, that is very high on Auburn and Pearl. I'd like to fill the last opening with a JuCo 3. If we have any attrition then think about adding some transfers.

That makes 2 of us. He has Chris Porter like hops. If he has any hope of playing at the NBA level he is going to have to learn to play on the perimeter. He might as well get an early start learning how to be a wing at Auburn.

Wouldn't call him big. He's a 6-7 forward. But yes, getting an athletic forward who looks like he'll be able to come in and score and rebound is a plus.

Size to weight, I'd say he is bigger than anyone that Barbee signed. Sure Barbee signed 6'11 guys but the were all like 200 lbs.

Patric Young for UF was a dominant/powerful center at only 6'9 245 lb. Bowers is 260 pounds and 6'7. I don't think anyone is backing him down anytime soon

Kareem Canty is a proven PG. 16.5 PPG and 5 Assists in Conference USA as a true freshman is pretty impressive. Don't see why we should say no to a guy like that

He turns it over a lot, but yea I would love to have him. Bama got Tulanes PG to transfer in, he'll show out for them next year.

I expect some turnovers from a FR PG though.

And even if he turns it over too much, if he can score 16.5 a game he could probably play the 2 guard for us. Not like we are overflowing with young talent there.
